Back To The Garden - Part 19

Status Update:

My move is scheduled for Friday, May 30 ... and I'm still a far cry from being ready ... Let me say this ... I'll be very relieved when this month is over ... and I can get back to my writing routine!

In the meantime, I once again am compelled to share something with you right now ...

I've been receiving daily emails from Silent Journey for some time ... I don't open every one except when a subject line grabs my curiosity ... Today was such a case ...

"Divinely" enough, I happened to catch a documentary-type show on TV last night called Life. It was all about plants ... flowers in particular ... and using time-lapse photography showed how different varieties develop ... and perpetuate themselves. Sunflowers just happened to be one of the examples used ...

Nature and the Magic of the Fibonacci Sequence

"A beautiful video showing the application of the Fibonacci number sequence to nature. For all of us who couldn’t think of any practical applications for math while we were learning it at school, perhaps looking at how one describes the wing of a dragonfly geometrically will make it clearer." from Silent Journey

Nature by Numbers

This is a fascinating short movie by Cristobal Vila ... I hope you enjoy it as much as I did ...

Back To The Garden - Part 18

Green In Nature

It's been just over two weeks since my last post ... and that's been the longest period I've gone without posting in almost a year!

I have to be out of my home of the past 8 years before June 1 ... and I'm seriously "down-sizing" ... So now that I'm in the "home stretch" ...

#1 - I must stay focused on the task before me and
#2 - I'm so anxious about the drastic change looming ... I haven't been able to summon up my creative juices

That is until I saw a link and an image for Green in Nature ... That I couldn't pass up ...

While I'm sure one of the first things that comes to mind when thinking about Gardens is multi-colors of flowers ... I see the color Green ...

Kermit may have bemoaned the fact that "It's Not Easy Being Green" ...

But I LOVE GREEN ... Most of my recent drawings are primarily Green ... Green is the color associated with the Heart Chakra ... Green represents Nature ... and for me, Green is LIFE itself ...
Green Chrysanthemum
Obviously, I can't speak for anyone one else but when I look at these photos I need to take a deep breath ... and a certain sense of calm descends ... and yet, at the same time, I feel the vibrancy of LIFE itself ...

I just remembered something I read in the Secret Gardens Art Book I wrote about a few weeks back ...

"When actual Secret Gardens are not available, Gardens in art offer similar benefits ... [They] ... can lift even the gloomiest mood ... "

This series of  24 photographs does the same for me ...

Please do yourself a favor and take a look at this magnificent stroll through Green in Nature ...

My postings will probably continue to be inconsistent for the next few weeks ... but I do want to express my thanks to all of you that enjoy my ramblings ...
